Jose Perez Beechwood Alumni

“Beechwood School provided the foundation for my educational success. I was constantly faced with challenges and opportunities during my academic journey. For students like myself, Beechwood is an important first step towards higher education.”
— Jose Perez, Beechwood Class of 1999, UC Davis Class of 2007

Beechwood Alumni

Beechwood is not only a school but also an extended family, supporting and enjoying one another throughout the years. Beechwood Alumni now number over 200 young people – they have demonstrated commitment to family, community and lifelong learning.

Beechwood employs a full-time Graduate Coordinator to keep in touch with alumni. Mrs. Connolly works closely with Beechwood eighth graders and their families to help them prepare for their high school experience, arranging onsite visits to schools and assisting them in the application process. She also helps alumni connect with support and enrichment programs.

Beechwood graduates remain an active part of the Beechwood community. They often return for informal visits in addition to participating more formally in the classroom, sharing principles and experiences with current students. We are proud of our growing family of alumni and applaud their hard work, determination, and willingness to give back to the community.

Alumni Poet Reflects on Haiti Tragedy

Carmelite Souffront, Beechwood class of 1994, is an amazing poet. As a school that values creativity, we salute her passion and admire her dedication to her craft. Please listen to her latest work about the tragedy in Haiti in the video below.

Returning Alumni Give Back to Beechwood

Konstance Kirkendoll
Esmeralda Lopez

One of Beechwood's previous Principals, Mr. Tim Willoughby, once said “you will know that the school is a true success when graduates return to work at the school.” We agree, and are very proud to say that two of our alumni are currently valuable members of our staff: Konstance Kirkendoll serves as Kindergarten Aide Monday through Thursday and lead Kindergarten teacher in the summer and on Fridays. Korinne Nickings is Kindergarten aide on Fridays.

We are so flattered that they have returned to give something back to the community that gave them so much. A specific part of the school's mission is that students will “take a personal responsibility to serve in their communities.” To see this happening gives all of us a tremendous sense of satisfaction.

Annual Alumni BBQ

Always held on the first Friday in June, Beechwood School’s Alumni BBQ is a popular event. Graduates and their families are invited for delicious food, live music, and a huge photo display of Beechwood’s students and teachers since Beechwood began. All alumni and families are invited.

Ongoing Education

Beechwood graduates go on to attend many fine high schools, community colleges and four year universities. Alumni have attended Menlo College, Stanford University, Fresno State, Long Beach State, Columbia University, Santa Clara University, UC Santa Cruz, St. Mary’s, Trinity, Yale University, Mt. Holyoke, Wesleyan, Foothill College, De Anza College, College of San Mateo, Cañada College and others.
